WMS SADD Donates Stuffed Animals

Deputies Will Give Them To Children

When the police show up, it can be a scary situation for anyone – especially children.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department often gives away stuffed animals, to traumatized children, to help them relax. The trouble is, these toys cost money and the sheriff’s department has a limited budget.
Fortunately, a group of Putnam County school children stepped up to the plate by donating dozens of stuffed animals.
“Thanks to Winfield Middle School Chapter Students against Destructive Decisions (SADD), that collected stuffed animals for the Putnam County Sheriffs Department,” says Sheriff Stephen L. “Steve” Deweese. “We will enjoy giving these stuffed animals out to kids within Putnam County. I really enjoyed my time with you this morning.”
In addition, WMS students are showing their love and appreciation to law enforcement officers by decorating the school’s hallways with colorful “Thank You” notes and bulletin boards.
