Businessman Has High-Tech Education Plan
The 8th Senatorial District race includes three candidates vying for the open seat. West Virginia businessman, Chris Walters, has filed as the lone Republican. Chris works for Structured Financial Associates in Charleston, West Virginia, specializing in Wealth Management and Structured Settlement annuities.
Last year, Chris successfully, lobbied the legislator to create a study of replacing textbooks with E-Readers. In Florida, a county school district saw a 25% savings on all texts by downloading them into an E-Reader. Another benefit attributed to the E-Reader, was the overall increase in reading comprehension amongst the Florida school district’s students.
“Youth throughout our state often go to a home whose only technology is a TV. Giving them a tool, such as an E-Reader, encourages them to read and is something we must do. I am running for Senate because I believe in a better, stronger West Virginia; not just for me, but for my daughter and her generation.”
Chris is married to Elizabeth Walters and has an 18-month-old daughter named Aubrey. He is the son of West Virginia Delegate Ron Walters and his wife Deborah Walters. He is a lifelong resident of West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in International Business.
