Nineteen-Thousand Square-Foot Addition
“Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build”
1 Chronicles 22:19
Vision, planning. praying and fund-raising were celebrated, on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18th, 2017, as Teays Valley Baptist Church held a groundbreaking ceremony for its upcoming sanctuary expansion.
Under the leadership of Dr. John D. Smith, Teays Valley Baptist Church has grown from 89 people to a record attendance of 1,400.
Due to rapid growth in attendance, the church broke ground on a 19,000-square foot addition. This is in addition to the existing 42,000-square foot of buildings in place.
Pastor Smith notes, “It has been my honor with our church to serve Putnam County for the past 39 years. God has expanded our ministry over the years to where we are now reaching the whole state and have a national and worldwide impact. We are looking forward to this project, which will enable us to reach more people and to further serve our community.”
West Virginia Delegate Nancy Reagan Foster (R-38th), Putnam County, comments, “Teays Valley Baptist Church has a heart for the community in Putnam County. The work being done to reach those in need is genuine and appreciated to help our community.”
Putnam County Commissioner, Ronald Reagan Foster (R), states, “Teays Valley Baptist Church is a staple in our community. The investment in this structure will reap benefits for years to come. Their Frontline ministry to aid those struggling with addiction is a testament to their concern for our community.”
The project is scheduled to begin in July with a targeted completion date of June 2018. To learn more, please, visit: https://www.teaysvalleybaptist.com/build/
