PCSD Makes Nine Weekend Arrests

Also Investigating Five Domestic Calls 

The Putnam County Sheriff’s altDepartment is reporting nine more arrests, over the weekend. In addition, another Disturbance, more Larcenies and five Domestic Calls are under investigation.

It was a busy weekend of crime for the heroic men and women that protect and serve us.

Following is the crime information posted Monday, September 25th, 2017, on the PCSD Facebook Page.

Weekend Activity:

  • ARREST: Deputy T.A. Edwards arrested Keith Brandon Newsome, from Winfield, for Feeling in a Vehicle, Fleeing on Foot, Obstructing an Officer, Unlawful Assault on an Officer, Attempt to Commit Unlawful Assault on an Officer and Transferring and Receiving Stolen Property.

  • ARREST: Sergeant S.M. Shamblin arrested Jeffrey Turley, from West Hamlin, on a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Capias for Trespassing- Structure, Trespassing non-structure, Destruction of Property, Failure to Register-WV operators, Unattended Vehicle, No Insurance, Leaving the Scene of Accident, and Failure to Report Accident.

  • ARREST: Deputy T.A. Edwards arrested Patricia L. Hager, from Poca, on a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Capias for Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order. Hager has a prior arrest.

  • ARREST: Deputy B.M. Hunt arrested Scott A. Davis, from Poca, for Aggravated DUI-1st offense.

  • ARREST: Deputy R.B. Childers arrested Justin A. Hammond, from Winfield, on a warrant for Parole Violation.

  • ARREST: Deputy B.J. Hudson arrested Christopher M. Lake, from St. Albans, for Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Suboxene, and a Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Warrant for Breaking and Entering-Auto.

  • ARREST: Deputy B.J. Hudson arrested Jennifer D. Salisbury, from Hurricane, for Domestic Battery and a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Warrant for Driving on a Revoked License-DUI related.

  • ARREST: Deputy B.J. Hudson arrested Todd E. Hill, from Nitro, on a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Capias for Petit Larceny.

  • ARREST: Deputy B.M. Hunt arrested Courtney M. Chafin, from St. Albans, on a Capias for Transferring and Receiving Stolen Goods from Cabell County Sheriff’s Office. Chafin has been arrested before.
  • Disturbance, 100 Block River Street, Poca, suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Suspicious Person, 300 Block Scary Creek Road, Winfield, suspect arrested on scene for outstanding warrants through Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Larceny, 100 Block Eastwood Acres, Nitro, suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Destruction of Property, 800 Block Sable Point Drive, Hurricane, no suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Petit Larceny, 3000 Block Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Larceny, 1000 Block Mt. Zion, Liberty, suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Larceny, 10000 Charleston Road, no suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Hit & Run, 4300 Block 1st Avenue, Nitro, suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Eleven alarm calls responded.
  • Five Domestic calls in progress. Suspect listed at time of report, pending investigation.
  • Six motor vehicle crashes: US Route 35, State Route 817 with injury, 3000 Block Teays Valley Road, I-64 East Bound 44 MM, Cannery Lane, State Route 33 & Poplar Fork Road.
  • Two Domestic Violence Petitions served.
