Putnam County Loses An Angel
During the past months, Putnam County fell in love with Katie Cobb. As the beautiful teenager, courageously, battled cancer, fundraisers were held to benefit her with many people donating without having met her.
Sadly, we have to report that Katie Cobb, 14, is with other angels, and her heavenly Father, after passing away, Tuesday, October 10th, 2017.
River Ridge Church, where Katie’s father, Chad, is a pastor, posted the following on its Facebook page:
“This morning we have heavy hearts as we grieve the loss of Katie Cobb after her courageous battle with cancer. Katie is the daughter of Chad and Sarah Cobb, and Chad is one of the pastors at our Teays Valley location. Chad and Sarah posted this verse to their blog last night, and these are the words we are all hanging onto during this time:
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:7-9, 16-18 ESV
